This role is responsible for the comprehensive ownership of Everyday Banking and non-registered Savings experiences within Simplii Financial. Key responsibilities include defining product vision and strategy, establishing success metrics, and leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve significant customer and business impact. The Director translates Simplii's business strategy into actionable product directives, carefully balancing customer requirements, regulatory compliance, operational realities, and technological constraints. The position requires a high degree of independent judgment to prioritize initiatives, manage investment trade-offs, navigate complex challenges, and influence senior stakeholders. Furthermore, this individual acts as both a product and people leader, fostering product talent, upholding quality standards, and cultivating a customer-centric, outcome-driven product culture.
Accountable for end-to-end product strategy, outcomes, and evolution of Everyday Banking and Savings experiences, including core banking foundations and money management.,Lead, motivate, and coach the team, providing performance feedback, removing obstacles, and clarifying expectations.,Engage and collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders across Direct Financial Services, Alternate Solution Group, Retail and Business Banking, and various other Simplii departments (Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Treasury, Finance, Risk Management), as well as external vendors.,Ensure compliance with all applicable Simplii and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines, and controls for themselves and all employees within the business unit.,Aware of, informed about, and responsible for adherence to Regulatory requirements, standards, and guidelines for the credit card and payments industry.,Recommend changes to business processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.,Authority to assign tasks, select individuals for hire, assess individual performance, make employee compensation decisions, and take disciplinary measures up to and including termination.
Extensive experience (10+ years) in financial services, with deep exposure to Everyday Banking (chequing), savings, or core consumer banking domains.,Proven experience leading product management at scale, including setting product vision and strategy, defining outcomes and success metrics, and owning delivery across complex, regulated environments.,Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, or a related field, or equivalent experience.,Strong understanding of Everyday Banking and Savings ecosystems, including core banking foundations, money management behaviors, servicing, and the operational and regulatory considerations.,Demonstrated understanding of deposit economics, including drivers of net interest income (NII), balance growth, retention, and trade-offs.,Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into clear problem statements, prioritized use cases, and measurable outcomes.,Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to balance customer value, risk, operational realities, and technology constraints in prioritization and investment trade-offs.,Proven ability to operate effectively in high ambiguity, independently framing problems, driving clarity, and guiding teams through complex decision spaces.,Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including interpreting complex data, identifying patterns and trends, and developing well-reasoned recommendations.,Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills, with experience working across senior stakeholders and multiple functions to align on strategy, priorities, and outcomes.,Experience building, coaching, and developing high-performing product teams, setting clear expectations around product thinking, quality, and outcome ownership.,Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex topics and influence executive audiences through clear narratives and data-driven insights.
