Description

This role within the National Bank of Canada's National Client Group focuses on expanding market share in Quebec by building and maintaining strong relationships with large privately owned and private equity-backed Canadian companies. The Director will be responsible for business development, client relationship management, and structuring complex corporate financial solutions to support client growth.

What We're Looking For

Develop and implement a robust and effective marketing strategy to grow the client base and revenue.,Build a prospect list with detailed pitching and cross-sell plans.,Demonstrate strong leadership and coordination skills in market development and prospecting activities.,Cultivate and maintain key internal and external partner relationships.,Establish a strong market presence by networking with industry stakeholders (accounting firms, advisors, law firms, business leaders) and participating in professional associations.,Manage C-Suite relationships with sophisticated clients, providing financial strategies using the Bank's products and services.,Collaborate with internal partners (Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Private Banking, Risk Management Solutions, Treasury) to proactively initiate and structure customized financing solutions within the Bank's risk criteria.,Understand market conditions and general economic trends to ensure appropriate risk management.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor's degree or master's in a related field (business, finance, economics).,Professional designation(s) and/or an advanced degree is considered a strong asset.,Minimum 5-8 years of corporate/commercial lending experience in Canada, with strong knowledge of key market prospects.,Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies for business development.,Excellent credit skills, with experience structuring complex senior debt financings ($20 million to $1 billion), including bank syndication (cash flow lending, private equity, project acquisition finance) and experience in the syndicated loan market.,Strong knowledge of lending and ancillary products and services (cash management, derivative trading products) and ability to identify ancillary business opportunities.,Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to articulate National Bank's strategy and capabilities.,Excellent networking, relationship building, negotiation, sales/closing, and teamwork skills.,Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other commercial systems and platforms.
