Director, Marketing Operations

Lightspeed Commerce Inc. is seeking a Director, Marketing Operations to be a strategic and operational partner to the Marketing Leadership Team (MLT), reporting to the VP of Growth. This role is responsible for driving organizational excellence across Lightspeed’s global marketing function by leading annual planning, transformation programs, financial operations, and leadership operations. The ideal candidate will connect strategy to execution, ensuring the marketing organization operates efficiently, achieves business outcomes, and fosters a culture of clarity, accountability, and collaboration across all regions and functions.

What We're Looking For

Lead a global team of project managers and marketing operations managers, supporting all Marketing functions across regions (NOAM, EMEA, and APAC).

Serve as Marketing's business lead for the annual strategic and financial planning cycle, collaborating with Finance, Revenue Operations, and regional marketing leads.

Manage cross-functional dependencies, planning milestones, and strategic decision-making.

Partner with the MLT to oversee OKR definition, tracking, and reporting.

Build and refine planning and governance frameworks.

Establish and manage a marketing management operating system, including meeting cadences, offsites, and business reviews.

Support the MLT in driving organizational alignment through structured operating rhythms.

Partner with Finance and HR to manage global marketing budget and headcount planning.

Lead development and facilitation of Marketing's Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), and cross-functional reporting.

Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize investment, team performance, and marketing efficiency.

Craft executive-level communications, including team cascades, MLT updates, board materials, and internal storytelling.

Oversee Marketing-wide communications rituals and channels to promote transparency, engagement, and alignment.

Partner with Brand & Comms on internal employer branding and cultural engagement initiatives.

Lead cross-functional initiatives that strengthen marketing's operational health (e.g., process improvements, tool optimization, and change management).

Establish standardized change management frameworks for transformation programs.

Act as a trusted advisor to the MLT on org-wide priorities and operational readiness for new strategic initiatives.

Lead special projects that connect marketing strategy with execution.

Manage and develop a high-performing team of program and project management professionals.

Provide coaching, mentoring, and development planning.

Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Partner with HR and Marketing Leadership to plan for future team growth and organizational design changes.

Ideal Candidate

10+ years of experience in Marketing Operations, Strategy, or Program Management, with 5+ years leading teams in global or matrixed organizations.

Proven success leading annual planning and financial operations for a marketing or GTM organization.

Strong strategic and analytical skills; able to synthesize data into clear insights and recommendations.

Experience leading organizational change and cross-functional transformation initiatives.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interfacing with executive stakeholders.

Strong command of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Monday.com, JIRA, Asana).

Experience partnering with Finance and HR on budget management and headcount planning.

Comfortable operating at both the 10,000-foot strategic level and the 10-foot execution level.
