Director, GAM Financial Control

This opportunity is for a forward-thinking and results-focused leader to join the Financial Control team within RBC's Wealth Management Finance. The role involves leading and empowering a team of accounting and finance professionals, overseeing financial control and reporting for the global RBC Global Asset Management (GAM) business. The Director will enhance control frameworks, collaborate with various finance and functional teams, and support senior leadership, operating in a fast-paced, high-visibility, and innovative environment.

What We're Looking For

Oversee the financial close cycle for GAM, ensuring timely and accurate monthly/quarterly reporting and key disclosures.

Provide technical accounting guidance and address queries on GAM new business initiatives/products, communicating with senior management globally.

Manage the WM GAM global internal control and governance framework, setting standards for key control activities, optimizing SOX and non-SOX processes, and identifying emerging risks.

Own the GAM Balance Sheet GL attestation process and results, collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues.

Develop and deepen relationships with global GAM business and other key stakeholders (e.g., WM Platform financial control, Performance Management, IT, Risk Management, Accounting Policy, Tax, Capital, Enterprise Finance partners).

Work with GAM regional finance teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of global GAM financial results and lead month-end close processes.

Lead and motivate a team responsible for GAM Financial Control, providing analyses and insights for senior management.

Identify opportunities to streamline, enhance efficiencies, and automate key processes.

Ideal Candidate

CPA designation or equivalent, with 10+ years of experience.
