The Director, Climate Strategy - Engagement & Disclosure will be a strategic and forward-thinking individual responsible for advancing RBC's climate strategy, with a primary focus on external and internal engagement and leading climate-related disclosure and reporting. This role involves shaping RBC's climate ambition, supporting strategy delivery, and ensuring strong cross-enterprise alignment on strategic priorities and actions by incorporating stakeholder and industry feedback. The director will also be responsible for developing climate strategy performance disclosure content for various reports, enhancing connectivity with external climate stakeholders, and building and implementing a policy and industry engagement strategy.
Contribute to advancing and evolving RBC's climate strategy by incorporating stakeholder and industry feedback into research and development.,Develop and manage climate strategy performance disclosure content for the Annual Report, Management Proxy, and Sustainability Report, including maintaining controls and partnering with Finance and Law Group to mitigate disclosure and legal risk.,Identify opportunities to enhance connectivity and deepen integration of climate with external climate stakeholders and across the bank, partnering with the Climate Strategy team and business leaders to design and deliver improvements, overseeing website updates and communications strategy.,Build and implement a policy and industry engagement strategy, evolving the Climate Strategy's approach to policy engagement and representing RBC in industry discussions on climate.,Demonstrated ability to lead sustainability and/or financial reporting and experience meeting control expectations.,Exceptional problem-solving and synthesis of key insights; analytical and strategic mindset.,Exceptional stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, particularly impact and influence.,Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
7+ years of relevant experience, with a preference for experience in strategy, reporting, controls, professional and/or financial services sectors; experience in climate/sustainability roles a benefit.,Experience working in a large matrix organization and/or with corporate sustainability (nice-to-have).,Experience meeting control expectations and dealing with complex disclosure and reporting (nice-to-have).
