The Director, Branch Operations, is a key member of the branch management team, collaborating with the Branch Manager to lead branch operations. The role focuses on fostering a culture of excellence through continuous oversight of operational activities, coaching, mentoring, and executing strategic initiatives. The individual will work on-site full-time, Monday through Friday.
Leadership: Communicate and reinforce firm strategy, implement strategic initiatives, advise on projects, manage change projects, interpret analysis to improve operational performance.,Operational Effectiveness: Supervise and manage all branch activities, assist with succession planning administration, guide on complex account openings, ensure operational excellence and compliance, resolve client complaints, ensure suitable physical and technology requirements, develop and implement plans, address operational issues.,People Management: Champion CIBC vision and values, provide coaching and development opportunities, give feedback, remove performance obstacles, recognize successes, partner with HR on employee issues.,Governance and Controls: Manage risk exposure, ensure compliance with regulatory activities, adhere to policies, ensure appropriate financial advice, maintain a safe work environment.
In-depth knowledge of retail brokerage and products.,Ability to communicate brokerage information to Investment Advisors and Investors.,Knowledgeable about roles of quantitative and performance analysis, markets and industry issues, financial planning.,Comprehensive understanding of the retail brokerage business.,Ability to identify business opportunities and implement successful strategies.,Awareness of business issues, processes, and outcomes impacting CIBC Wood Gundy and clients.,Knowledge of the Brokerage industry, Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Canadian Practices Handbook.,Ability to handle high levels of complexity and ambiguity.,Proven problem-solving approach and capability to develop unique solutions.,Well-developed writing skills for interpretive, analytical materials.,Advanced presentation skills.,Planning skills to coordinate objectives for non-routine assignments.,Team player with strategic view of the broader business and understanding of its economics.,Excellent time management skills.,Experience in influencing and negotiating techniques.
37.5 hours/week, full-time Monday through Friday
