This role involves leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team to provide strategic advice on complex regulatory issues related to individual insurance, savings, and retirement. The Assistant Director will act as a strategic partner to sales and manufacturing teams, guiding them on regulatory understanding and management. They will influence major initiatives, contribute to evolving organizational practices, and foster a culture of rigor, professional judgment, and talent development.

What We're Looking For

Mobilize, coordinate, and prioritize team work to offer first-class consulting and support on complex regulatory issues in individual insurance, savings, and retirement (AERI) sectors.,Lead the supervision and execution of mandates related to strategic regulatory projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.,Support internal sales teams and operational teams on complex compliance, distribution, and manufacturing issues for products and services.,Ensure rigorous monitoring of team activities using relevant dashboards, animate daily meetings (DMS/Scrums), and empower members in problem-solving.,Collaborate closely with multiple internal and external partners (sales, pricing, training, marketing, legal affairs, risk management, corporate compliance, and career network) and act as a regulatory expert for management.

Ideal Candidate

Strong regulatory expertise in individual insurance and savings.,Law degree and member of a Canadian Bar.,Ability to mobilize and coordinate multidisciplinary teams around common objectives.,Demonstrates strong analytical rigor and excellent professional judgment in regulatory risk analysis.,Recognized for leadership, influence, and ability to advise high-level stakeholders.,8 to 10 years of experience in regulatory risk management in the insurance and/or savings sector.,Advanced knowledge of English, as the person will interact verbally and in writing with French and English-speaking product distribution teams across Canada daily.
