Data Scientist III

Description

The Data Scientist III provides technical leadership within the Analytics function, often with an enterprise-wide focus. This role involves explaining complex data analysis to clients, identifying business opportunities for data science solutions, and translating business problems into actionable data science strategies. The incumbent will use programming languages like Python, apply statistics and advanced analytics to extract insights from big data, and visualize these insights for various stakeholders. Collaboration with other data professionals to develop scalable solutions is also key, along with fostering analytical thought leadership and educating the organization on data science principles.

What We're Looking For

Work closely with business owners to identify opportunities and act as an ambassador for data science.,Understand business context and data infrastructure to translate business problems into viable data science solutions.,Utilize programming languages (e.g., Python), statistics, and advanced analytics for data extraction, preparation, and insight generation.,Visualize and communicate data insights clearly to decision-makers and stakeholders.,Collaborate with data analysts, software engineers, and application developers to build scalable and sustainable data science solutions.,Provide analytical thought leadership and stay updated on data mining and data science developments.,Propose improvements to business processes through data insights to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.,Educate the organization on hypothesis testing and statistical validation.,Understand and explain the principles and mathematics behind the data scientist process.,Translate information into continuous improvement activities.,Adhere to enterprise frameworks and methodologies.,Ensure programs/policies/practices meet business needs and comply with requirements.,Participate in cross-functional initiatives as a subject matter expert, identifying risks and providing guidance.,Monitor service, productivity, and efficiency, implementing continuous improvements.,Lead and facilitate remediation plans for performance/risk/governance issues.,Manage relationships with internal and external partners.,Stay informed on emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements.,Maintain a culture of risk management and control.,Participate as a team member, promoting a positive work environment, quality, innovation, and teamwork.,Provide thought leadership and industry knowledge within expertise area.,Keep current on emerging trends and grow business knowledge.,Engage in personal performance management and development activities.,Communicate project status and relevant information.,Contribute to team development through mentorship and knowledge sharing.,Lead and develop relationships with business partners/stakeholders.,Contribute to a fair, positive, and equitable environment.,Act as a brand ambassador for the business area and the bank.

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance or computer science). Graduate's degree preferred. Progressive project work experience or 5+ years of relevant experience; higher degree education and research tenure can be counted.
