Data Scientist III, TD Auto Finance

Description

The Data Scientist will report to the Senior Manager – Analytics & Information Management and work with TD Auto Finance team members to provide valuable quantitative insights and recommendations to business stakeholders. This role involves managing financial models, ensuring data integrity, optimizing analytical processes, creating data visualizations, and supporting strategic initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Engage with business partners on initiatives and projects.,Provide consultation and recommendations using a quantitative perspective.,Proactively identify opportunities to maximize shareholder value through analytics and business insights.,Manage, update, and maintain financial models and profitability reports.,Liaise with various teams (TBSM, Capital, Risk, Finance) to understand impacts of changes to financial variables.,Ensure data integrity, reconcile data sources, and develop quality checks.,Continuously optimize, improve, and strengthen business analytical processes and frameworks.,Build visual aids (charts, tables, trend analysis) to communicate findings.,Provide ad hoc support to the Senior Manager in strategic and tactical initiatives.,Establish and maintain productive working relations with stakeholders.,Continuously acquire and enhance knowledge of auto lending business, market insights, and advanced analytical tools.

Ideal Candidate

Extensive work experience building predictive models with machine learning methods.,Experience combining data from different databases.,Experience discovering and understanding new data elements using metadata and testing.,Strong relationship-building skills, ability to collaborate effectively with teams across TDAF and the Bank.,Experience in data mining, financial models and data visualization tools (SQL, Tableau, and Excel).,Experience building presentations and presenting findings to upper management.,Minimum 5 years in an analytical/data science role.,Demonstrated experience of developing and implementing statistical models (predictive & descriptive).,Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality, high impact analytical solutions to business problems.,Banking or Auto Finance experience is strongly preferred.,University Degree combined with data science education preferred.
