Description
CWP Energy's WPred platform, which provides weather intelligence for renewable energy operators in North America and Europe, is seeking a Data Science Intern. The intern will work with the data scientist on the core forecasting platform, focusing on evaluating new data sources, performing quality checks, and contributing findings to improve forecast accuracy. The role involves working with real data pipelines and seeing direct impact on the product.
What We're Looking For
Evaluate new variables that could improve forecast accuracy, reanalysis datasets, observational feeds and make the case for adopting them.,Compare external data against our internal data to surface gaps and opportunities.,Run validation workflows that feed directly into model improvement cycles.,Collaborate with the data scientist to translate findings into actionable changes in the forecasting pipeline.
Ideal Candidate
Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Math, or related field.,Comfortable in Python; SQL is a major plus.,Curious about weather, energy, or geospatial data.,Asks good questions and doesn't wait to be told what to do next.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree (in progress) or equivalent university program for academic credit
