Data Designer II

Description

This role involves providing expert guidance on data impact assessments and risk mitigation, implementing data information management standards, and ensuring data quality. The Data Designer II will develop knowledge of data sources, identify critical data elements, and ensure compliance with enterprise data standards. They will also perform data profiling, support data issue resolution, and facilitate knowledge transfer. The role requires collaboration with technology and business teams to deliver data solutions, oversee post-implementation impact, and ensure alignment with data governance policies. Additionally, the individual will contribute to team development, maintain industry knowledge, and promote a culture of risk management.

What We're Looking For

Provide expert guidance within projects and other various change initiatives to support data impact assessments and data risk mitigation.,Implement processes aligned to data information management standards and ensure data quality (e.g., rules / thresholds / assessments, etc.) and requirements are developed.,Develop and maintain knowledge of available data from upstream sources and various platforms.,Identify critical data / critical data elements to support Business Segment data governance and/or data management frameworks / programs.,Ensure business data and information is retained and disposed in compliance with enterprise data standards, policies and guidelines.,Perform data profiling using TD tooling and ad hoc system query languages to validate data prototyping solutions.,Provide support throughout data lifecycle to resolve data issues and support user community by helping users interpret the data.,Lead the investigation of root causes for data issues and ensure data issues are resolved while developing the prototyping solution.,Identify and/or define knowledge transfer and data expertise activities to support business teams using the information management solutions.,Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to data activities for business area.,Ensure business operations follow applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets).,Collaborate with business partners/ stakeholders to ensure project success.,Collaborate on business requirements by researching / analyzing and documenting business data requirements.,Participate in cross-functional / enterprise / initiatives as a subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations.,Conduct meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices.,Keep updated on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.,Promote a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.,Collaborate with technology and business teams to ensure alignment and guide successful delivery of data solutions.,Facilitate data analysis and investigations for business users and QA teams, assisting with complex issues and validating business cases during development and testing phases.,Provide oversight on business impact post-implementation, ensuring the data solution meets the intended business outcomes during the warranty period.,Coordinate business requirements with technical teams with an oversight of ensuring smooth integration of data into source code repositories and promoting effective source code management practices.,Lead or participate in business and technical design reviews, ensuring that data architectures meet both operational and business objectives.,Raise and manage change requests in collaboration with business stakeholders, supporting release management processes and ensuring timely delivery.,Lead initiatives on data governance and data management by ensuring business requirements align with enterprise data governance policies.,Ensure business metadata and data lineage are well-documented and integrated with enterprise metadata management tools.,Adhere to and promote best practices for data security.,Document business requirements and technical decisions.,Safeguard the organization's interests, identifying and managing business risks, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.,Stay current on industry trends, expanding knowledge of business processes, data tools, and best practices.,Enable cross-functional collaboration, sharing knowledge and best practices.,Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment.,Provide thought leadership and / or industry knowledge for own area of expertise and participate in knowledge transfer.,Keep current on emerging trends/developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques.,Participate in personal performance management and development activities.,Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of projects.,Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship.,Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders.,Contribute to a fair, positive and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce.,Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank.

Ideal Candidate

Expert level professional role, considered subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge / expertise in own domain / field of specialty and working knowledge of broader related areas.,Requires expert level conceptual and practical knowledge for own area of specialty and knowledge of broader related areas.,Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and fluent in one or two programming language.,Works autonomously on a range of tasks and may be relied upon to coach / educate others.,Lead projects of moderately to complex risk and resource requirements; may lead end-to-end processes or functional programs.,In-depth experience working with very large datasets and familiarity with big data technologies.,Keep abreast of rapid business and technology innovation within business information management field.,Familiar with visualization tools.
