The Business Risk Advisory (BRA) Consultant at CIBC is responsible for establishing an effective control environment within the CIBC Wood Gundy Branch network. This role involves ensuring adherence to industry regulations, corporate policies, and ethical business standards. The consultant will serve as a primary contact for Wood Gundy advisors, operations teams, and business partners regarding complex or escalated Business Risk Advisory issues.
Ensure an effective control environment within the CIBC Wood Gundy Branch network.,Ensure adherence to industry regulations, corporate policies, and ethical business conduct.,Act as a key contact for Wood Gundy advisors, Operations teams, and business partners on escalated or complex Business Risk Advisory issues.,Manage governance and compliance monitoring.,Respond to Business Risk Advisory queries accurately and timely.,Identify and implement recommendations to address root causes of issues.,Handle day-to-day activities including AML exceptions, WG Privacy, Private Placements, Estate issues, Trust Accounts, Legal enquiries, POAs, Security Risk Rating, Fraud, and WG Conflicts of Interest.,Perform and coordinate centralized supervision functions like OTCs and Social Media Direct Messages supervision.,Follow up on questionable transactions.,Identify, analyze, and implement actions to meet regulatory requirements and timelines.,Develop and maintain relationships with internal auditors, Wood Gundy Compliance, Branch Managers, and Regional/Managing Directors.,Lead and represent the Business Risk Advisory Department on key business reviews, projects, and audits.,Educate, support, coach, and mentor WG branches and business partners on technical risk issues.,Retrieve, consolidate, and analyze Business Risk Advisory Metrics.,Assist with workload allocation and reallocation to meet changing priorities.,Coordinate documentation and analysis of Business Risk Advisory policies, procedures, intranet site, and communications.,Champion CIBC's mission, vision, and values.
Good knowledge of the financial services industry.,Solid understanding of the CIBC Wood Gundy business and its regulatory/compliance environment.,Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, and PowerPoint beneficial).,Successfully completed Canadian Securities Course.,Successfully completed Conduct and Practices Handbook.,Completion of other industry courses would be beneficial.,Ability to manage several small to medium-sized projects concurrently.
