Description
Vention is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel, Compliance, to build and strengthen the company's compliance framework as it grows and becomes more publicly exposed. This role involves proactively identifying risks, designing scalable compliance programs, and ensuring readiness for regulatory scrutiny across various jurisdictions. The counsel will collaborate with senior management, HR, Finance, Operations, and external legal advisors to integrate compliance rigor throughout the organization.
What We're Looking For
Design and evolve the company's overall compliance framework.,Develop and maintain policies, codes of conduct, and internal controls.,Lead compliance risk assessments across different functions and jurisdictions.,Implement governance processes adapted to a growing organization with multiple entities.,Oversee compliance with applicable corporate, commercial, labor, and regulatory laws.,Monitor evolving regulatory requirements (United States, Canada, EMEA, as applicable).,Ensure readiness for due diligence related to financing, certification audits, and regulatory investigations.,Support governance and accountability requirements at the board level.
Ideal Candidate
6 to 8+ years of experience in law (in-firm and/or in-house).,Strong expertise in corporate compliance and regulatory affairs.,Experience in designing or managing compliance programs within fast-growing organizations.,Experience in conducting internal investigations.,Excellent business judgment and ability to reconcile legal risks with operational realities.,Member of the Quebec Bar.

Law Degree (implied by 'Membre du Barreau du Québec')
