This role is for a strategic legal advisor and practice leader specializing in personal information protection and information security. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal and business advice, guide key decisions, support the organization's vision in innovation and transformation, and lead the evolution of the practice within iA Financial Group's legal services team.
Act as a key resource within Legal Services, for partners, and senior management.,Provide strategic legal and business advice on personal information protection and information security to all organizational sectors.,Act as a high-level legal expert, offering a market-oriented strategic vision.,Provide strategic legal advice to business sectors including M&A, commercial contracts, sales, product development, distribution, technology, human resources, crisis management, and data-driven business strategies.,Develop a comprehensive and forward-thinking understanding of the organization's legal needs in targeted expertise areas.,Lead and coordinate necessary legal support for incident response (cybersecurity, fraud, data protection).,Proactively monitor, analyze, and disseminate legislative and regulatory trends in personal information protection and information security.,Provide legal support for the implementation, review, and updating of policies, standards, directives, and programs.,Harmonize pan-Canadian and American legal approaches.,Collaborate closely with other Legal Services Practice Leaders, particularly Contracts and Innovation.,Actively participate in various industry meetings and forums.,As Practice Leader, be the primary contact for key partners to ensure service quality, efficiency, and consistency.,Supervise and coordinate projects involving multiple team members.,Establish, animate, and maintain a community of practice.,Play an influential role in promoting best practices among internal teams.,Coach and develop team talents, fostering teamwork and knowledge sharing.,Ensure compliance and continuous improvement of legal processes, norms, and standards.
Law degree (LL. B.),Member in good standing of a provincial bar.,Minimum of 15 years of experience related to personal information protection, information security, or related fields.,Advanced English level is essential for interacting and training colleagues (including managers and executives) across Canada and the United States, and for harmonizing pan-Canadian and American approaches.
