The Commercial Banking Associate will join CIBC's Commercial Banking team to assist businesses in reaching their full potential. The role involves a structured training program to learn business solutions and client expertise. Key responsibilities include supporting client acquisition, relationship management, and providing transactional support for financing solutions. The associate will aid Commercial Banking Managers with existing client relationships and new financing transactions through financial and industry analysis, participate in sales cycle activities to prepare for a Relationship Manager role, and assist with business development initiatives. The program includes orientation, hands-on experience, and training in credit structuring, risk assessment, and cash management, with ongoing coaching and mentoring to develop soft skills such as business development, negotiation, and networking.

What We're Looking For

Support Commercial Banking Managers with existing client relationships and new financing transactions through financial and industry analysis.,Participate in all sales cycle activities to prepare for the Relationship Manager role.,Assist with business development initiatives focused on meeting growth targets by identifying business opportunities and financing solutions.,Engage in orientation activities and hands-on training to develop skills and knowledge for client service excellence.,Complete training sessions on credit structuring, risk assessment, and cash management.,Develop soft skills including business development, negotiation, and networking.,Collaborate with teams to enhance client engagement, relationship building, research, evaluation, and innovation.,Assist in evaluating business growth opportunities through comprehensive industry, client, and prospect research.,Prepare analyses in support of credit submissions, including structuring and documentation.,Provide administrative support to ensure client needs are met.,Respond to requests by answering questions and providing an exceptional experience.,Heighten CIBC brand awareness in the community by attending local events and participating in marketing and outreach activities.,Grow network to create lasting connections that will generate future opportunities.,Work closely with the team to connect clients with the right opportunities.,Assist in problem-solving and finding solutions.,Proactively assess client needs and propose solutions.,Provide guidance on treasury best practices and cash management solutions.

Ideal Candidate

Final year post-secondary student pursuing a degree/diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related fields.,Expected graduation date of May 31st, 2026.,Understanding of financial statements and accounting principles, including valuation techniques and cash flow analysis.,Knowledge of commercial banking products and service offerings (asset).,Legally eligible to work in Canada at the specified locations, with a valid work or study permit if applicable.
