The Commercial Portfolio Loan Specialist is responsible for managing and monitoring a portfolio of commercial construction loans. This role involves ensuring compliance with loan documentation and credit standards to mitigate construction risk throughout the project lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

Manage and administer a portfolio of commercial construction loans from pre-closing to project completion.,Serve as a resource for the Line of Business and Credit Risk Officers on TD Construction Loan Credit Standards, policies, and procedures.,Provide high-quality internal and external customer service and support, handling complex projects.,Assist with inquiries, research, and problem resolution for the Line of Business and customers.,Review all construction documentation for conformity to TD Credit standards for construction loans.,Contribute to establishing detailed project budgets and balanced sources and uses.,Interpret complex credit policies, legal, title requirements, and regulatory guidelines to ensure loan documents meet standards.,Review and approve all closing disbursements.,Analyze funding requests against established budgets and identify exceptions.,Review advance request documentation, including AIA's, inspection reports, lien waivers, and soft cost invoices.,Make recommendations for funding and hold backs based on project knowledge and TD Bank construction policies.,Maintain a balance between project costs and funding sources to mitigate bank risk.,Review inspection reports for accuracy and completeness, following up with engineers to resolve issues.,Keep the Line of Business informed of project status and issues.,Maintain internal record keeping of loan disbursements and project progress in the construction monitoring system.,Ensure accuracy and maintenance of customer records and files, coordinating advances and repayments.,Develop an understanding of commercial products and services and ensure adherence to company guidelines.,Maintain a general knowledge of the construction lending industry and a detailed understanding of relevant regulations and guidelines.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor's degree (accounting/finance preferred) or equivalent work experience.,3+ years related experience, preferably in Construction Administration or Commercial/Real Estate Lending or Credit Management.
