This Commercial Loan Officer III role is an external sales position focused on expanding a Commercial portfolio by developing new customer relationships and managing existing ones. The officer will aim to meet or exceed annual sales, revenue, volume, and new customer objectives, while maximizing profitability and retention by cross-selling a full range of products and services. The position involves originating and structuring commercial real estate loans, building industry relationships, analyzing financial data for credit decisions, and collaborating with internal and external partners for loan approvals and closings. The role requires independent work to develop new business with complex credit needs and contribute to the loan decision process.
Originate and structure commercial real estate loans (office, retail, industrial, multifamily, mixed-use),Establish and maintain relationships with developers, brokers, attorneys, and CRE industry networking sources,Analyze financial statements, rent rolls, operating statements, and market data for credit decision making,Conduct cash flow and collateral analysis to assess transactional risk,Work with internal business partners on credit approval memos,Negotiate loan terms and coordinate closings with legal counsel and underwriting teams,Monitor loan portfolio performance and ensure compliance with credit policies,Meet or exceed annual production and portfolio growth goals while maintaining sound credit quality and focus on ROI,Operate within a high-paced environment and collaborate with multiple team members,Develop new business with prospects that have moderate and large complex credit needs,Maintain established market presence,Make calls independently and gather financial/general business information,Participate in credit decision process and communicate with prospects to close sales,Prepare basic management reports summarizing loan activity,Meet regularly with internal referral sources and develop network of outside referral sources,Compile necessary data and information for financial analysis,Contribute and provide input to loan decision process based on credit risk evaluation,Assist in the development of less experienced loan officers,Support Branch Managers and staff, educating them about products and lending process,Responsible for growth goals (loans, deposits, fees), individually and assisting the team
4 year degree or equivalent experience,7+ years related experience,Strong understanding of commercial business development techniques and credit decisions,Demonstrated business development track record,Strong market presence with wide network of outside referral sources for new business,Demonstrated credit and financial analysis skills,Refined negotiation skills,Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written,Demonstrated PC skills,Membership in civic and professional organizations required,Successfully completes all required job specific, compliance-related training,Understands, utilizes and follows Compliance/Risk and control programs,Consults with all risk functions in the development and documentation of policies, procedures and controls,Ensures ongoing compliance with internal/external audit and regulatory requirements,Provides prompt and comprehensive response to all external audit, regulator and compliance requests and findings,Maintains appropriate records of action plans
