The Capital Markets arm of CIBC provides integrated capital markets products, investment banking advisory services, corporate lending, and top-ranked research to corporate, government, institutional, and retail clients globally. The division aims to be the leading Capital Markets franchise in Canada and a primary relationship bank for key global clients, comprising Global Markets, Global Investment Banking, and Corporate Banking. The role is within an organization focused on building client relationships and empowering professionals to make a significant impact.

What We're Looking For

Ability to create and interpret financial models, forecasts, and valuation techniques (Financial Modeling and Analysis).,Proficiency in analyzing large datasets, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions (Quantitative Skills).,Understanding of credit, market, and operational risks, and the ability to mitigate them effectively (Risk Management).,Familiarity with financial statements, accounting principles, and regulatory reporting (Accounting Knowledge).,Deep understanding of financial markets, instruments, and macroeconomic factors (Market Awareness).,Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements (Regulatory Compliance).,Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders (Client Relationship Management).,Ability to negotiate terms and close deals effectively (Negotiation Skills).,Communicating complex financial concepts clearly (Presentation Skills).,Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a keen interest in financial markets.,Ability to thrive in a Trading Floor Environment.,Collaborative mindset.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum 5+ years related experience.,MBA, CFA, or other relevant professional designation preferred.,Strong knowledge of Capital Markets products.,CSC and CPH considered an asset; must be completed immediately upon employment.,Relevant sales experience with a proven track record of results in OTC Interest Rate Derivatives.,Strong overall knowledge of Capital Markets with sufficient knowledge of the financial services industry / regulatory environment.,Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or Economics.,CFA charter holder or working towards a similar designation.
