This strategic role within National Bank's Legal Affairs sector focuses on corporate governance and continuous disclosure. The advisor will provide expert legal advice, anticipate regulatory changes, develop and implement governance frameworks, manage privileged information, and contribute to essential disclosure documents. The position is part of a collaborative team that offers a hybrid work model and flexible hours, emphasizing professional growth and work-life balance.
What We're Looking For
Anticipate governance trends, best practices, and regulatory developments, providing recommendations to senior management and the Board of Directors.,Implement innovative governance frameworks and policies tailored to the Bank’s needs, and assess their impact.,Provide legal opinions and prepare documentation for senior management and the Board of Directors.,Act as an expert on privileged information management, insider obligations, lobbying activities, and the Disclosure Committee.,Draft, review, and advise on continuous disclosure documents, including the Management Proxy Circular, press releases, and regulatory reports.,Contribute to the Annual Meeting of Shareholders and represent the Bank before regulators, industry associations, and external advisors.,Bachelor of Laws degree.,10+ years of experience in governance and continuous disclosure, gained with a public issuer or in private practice.,Member in good standing of the Chambre des notaires du Québec or the Barreau du Québec.,Excellent analytical and legal writing skills.,Strategic leadership and ability to manage complex, high-visibility mandates.
Ideal Candidate
Bachelor of Laws degree.,10+ years of experience in governance and continuous disclosure (public issuer or private practice).,Member in good standing of the Chambre des notaires du Québec or the Barreau du Québec.
