Description
The Chief Analyst Special Loans at National Bank acts as a credit expert within the Special Loans team. This role involves managing complex restructuring files for large commercial accounts, including those under The Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act or the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. Responsibilities include preparing and submitting credit applications, participating in all stages of complex transactions from negotiation to exit strategy, analyzing sensitive credit facilities, assisting in negotiations with clients and advisors, leading special projects, improving portfolio tracking systems, and collaborating with Quality Control and Internal Audit teams. The position offers exposure to various industries and business sizes, providing opportunities in risk management and commercial financing.
What We're Looking For
Act as a credit expert to support Senior Directors on complex restructuring files,Prepare and submit credit applications,Actively participate in various stages of complex transactions (initial communication, analysis, negotiation, implementation, documentation, renewal, exit strategy),Analyze complex, sensitive credit facilities with diligence, creativity, and agility,Help negotiate terms and conditions with clients, external advisors, and Credit,Take charge of special projects as needed,Help develop/improve portfolio tracking and management systems,Work with Quality Control and Internal Audit teams to improve processes
Ideal Candidate
Completed University degree in a related field,Experience in commercial credit,Proficiency in financial analysis,Ability to understand financial and legal issues associated with restructuring or insolvency
