The Chief AI Agentic Developer position at National Bank of Canada's Wealth Management and Financial Markets IT Delivery team focuses on industrializing AI agents responsible for and integrated into CLCs. This role involves leveraging skills in software architecture, DevOps, and applied artificial intelligence to influence technical directions and support teams in adopting reusable agentic solutions. The individual will design, develop, and operationally support the Bank's agentic platforms, ensuring integration, consistency with internal standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements for responsible AI adoption. They will also evaluate emerging technologies through proof of concept and implement automated testing and monitoring for AI agent reliability and performance.

What We're Looking For

Design and develop the Bank's agentic platforms, covering architecture, technical implementation and operational support.,Integrate and harmonise several platforms in collaboration with the architecture teams, while ensuring consistency and compliance with internal standards.,Produce proof of concept to assess emerging technologies, analyse their feasibility and identify associated risks.,Implement and automate testing, evaluation and monitoring mechanisms to ensure the reliability, security and performance of AI agents.,Assist and support application teams in integrating AI agents by applying development best practises and established standards.,Define and oversee control mechanisms to promote responsible adoption of AI agents and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Ideal Candidate

Diploma in a related field (e.g., software engineering).,5 to 8 years of experience in software development in large cloud environments.,Proficiency in architecture and software design principles (modularity, microservices, APIs, observability, performance).,Experience in software development practises (clean code, code reviews, unit and integration testing, CI/CD, version management).,Proficiency in cloud environments, ideally AWS (Azure is an asset).,Proficiency in DevOps tools: GIT, CI/CD pipelines, Docker or Kubernetes containers.,Knowledge of applied artificial intelligence and agentic systems, including notions of MLOps.
