Description

This role is for a Catastrophe Claims Advisor II at TD Insurance, focusing on supporting customers during catastrophic loss events like fires, hail, and floods. The advisor will investigate, negotiate, and settle residential and auto catastrophe claims, providing comprehensive support from opening claims to finalizing settlements. The position requires ensuring customer needs are met promptly and delivering excellent service by reviewing reports, assigning contractors, and collaborating with internal and external partners. The role also involves professional development and contributing to a positive team environment.

What We're Looking For

Investigate, negotiate, and settle residential and auto catastrophe claims.,Support customer claims from start to finish, including opening claims, setting up appraisals, assigning contractors, generating financial transactions, and finalizing settlements.,Review inspection reports and estimates to ensure damages are related to the loss and determine if additional inspection is needed.,Follow up with customers on claim status, providing feedback and support regarding cause of loss and repair completion.,Adjust claims quickly and accurately in accordance with policy coverage.,Collaborate with internal partners and leverage external vendors.,Reconcile customer problems and escalate issues when necessary.,Actively participate in performance management processes and professional development.,Support other TD Insurance Business Lines during critical events and peak volumes.,Share industry knowledge and expertise with colleagues.,Maintain proactive and consistent contact with customers to build trust and resolve claims timely.,Contribute to a positive working environment.

Ideal Candidate

Two or more years of claims adjusting experience preferred (experience with multiple lines of claims insurance considered an asset).,Computer literacy.,Knowledge of Xactimate and Xactanalys is an asset.,Excellent communication and customer service skills, with empathy and compassion.,Proven ability to negotiate win/win outcomes.,Strong ability to review and investigate high-value claims related to catastrophic events.,Excellent organization and time management skills in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.,Proven ability to manage change and foster an environment open to change.,Dedicated to meeting or exceeding client expectations.,Strong attendance track record.,Actively pursuing Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or other relevant continuing education preferred.,Provincial claims licensing may be required.
