The TD Insurance Catastrophe (CAT) Claims Department is dedicated to assisting customers during times of catastrophic loss, aiming to deliver exceptional service. As a Claims Advisor, your role involves investigating, negotiating, and settling both residential and auto catastrophe claims. You will support customers throughout the claims process, from opening new claims and arranging appraisals to assigning contractors, managing financial transactions, and finalizing settlements. The position requires reviewing inspection reports and estimates to verify damage causation, following up with customers, providing ongoing feedback, and collaborating with internal partners and external vendors to ensure customer needs are met, escalating issues when necessary. The ideal candidate is a considerate, methodical professional with strong analytical skills, committed to providing support immediately following catastrophic events such as fires, hail, or heavy rains.

What We're Looking For

Investigate, negotiate, and settle Residential and Auto Catastrophe claims.,Support customer claims from start to finish, including opening new claims, setting up appraisals, assigning contractors, generating financial transactions, and finalizing settlements promptly.,Review inspection reports and estimates to ensure damages are related to the loss and determine when additional inspection is needed.,Follow up with customers on claim status and provide ongoing feedback and support regarding cause of loss and completion of repairs.,Adjust claims quickly and accurately in accordance with policy coverage to exceed customer expectations.,Collaborate with internal partners to ensure legendary customer experiences.,Leverage external vendors when appropriate, both approved and non-approved.,Ensure customer problems are carefully reconciled, escalating issues when necessary.,Actively participate in performance management processes.,Continue professional development with learning maps and external courses.,Support other TD Insurance Business Lines during critical events and peak volumes (e.g., Core Residential, Total Losses Auto PD, Automobile & Residential Claims).,Share industry knowledge and expertise to advise colleagues.,Proactively and consistently remain in contact with the customer to establish and maintain a relationship of trust to resolve claims in a timely manner.,Participate fully as a member of a team and contribute to a positive working environment.

Ideal Candidate

Two or more years of claims adjusting experience preferred.,Experience with multiple lines of claims insurance considered an asset.,Actively pursuing Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or other relevant continuing education preferred.,Provincial claims licensing may be required.
