Cagewash Technician

Description

The Cagewash Technician will join the Insourcing Solutions team in Cambridge, MA. This role involves the cleaning and maintenance of laboratory animal caging, related equipment, and preparation areas, as well as cleaning animal support areas. Responsibilities include preparing soiled caging for washing, sanitizing equipment using various methods, disposing of waste, maintaining clean cage preparation and storage areas, completing records, flushing animal racks, ensuring proper chemical levels, performing animal husbandry duties such as cage changing and feeding, assisting with general housekeeping in animal facilities, and maintaining equipment. The technician will operate Techniplast washers and Steris autoclaves.

What We're Looking For

Dump and scrape soiled bedding from caging and prepare for cagewash.,Sanitize caging and related equipment using cage washers, pressure washers, or hand washing.,Properly dispose of soiled bedding and waste.,Clean and sanitize cage preparation and storage areas.,Complete all logbooks, checklists, and other records in a timely fashion.,Flush all animal racks.,Ensure proper amounts of chemicals are present and report needs to supervisor.,Perform animal husbandry duties including changing cages, feeding, and monitoring watering devices.,Assist with housekeeping duties such as trash collection and cleaning animal facility laboratories, offices, and ancillary areas.,Maintain equipment used or report problems to supervisor promptly.,Operate Techniplast washer in accordance with SOP.,Operate and maintain Steris autoclaves.
