The ALDO Group is seeking a trend-obsessed, analytically driven, and highly organized Buyer & Merchandiser to join their Footwear Buying team. This role involves shaping seasonal assortments by balancing style, innovation, and performance insights, analyzing collection KPIs, curating new styles, and contributing to the product lifecycle to ensure the footwear offering remains culturally relevant and commercially strong. The ideal candidate is passionate about footwear and thrives in a fast-paced environment that combines trends, data, and storytelling.
Track weekly performance across key metrics like sales, GM, sell-through, and weeks of supply. Analyze collection performance by silhouette, material, colorway, price tier, region, and channel. Identify winners and underperformers, taking action on replenishment, SKU adjustments, or markdown strategies. Build KPI dashboards and weekly trading reports summarizing performance, risks, opportunities, and next steps. Conduct seasonal hindsight reviews to evaluate performance and translate learnings into future assortment strategies. Partner with planning/allocation for buy quantities, in-season reorder decisions, and future forecasting. Evaluate competitive pricing and promotional patterns to assess price elasticity and contextualize category performance. Build seasonal footwear assortments plan. Quantify and balance assortment by product attributes and story type. Build costing files, margin analysis, and competitive value comparisons. Manage sample coordination and product archives. Monitor the competitive footwear landscape, including store checks, social listening, and online assortment reviews. Track silhouette shifts, material evolutions, and new comfort technologies. Communicate daily with the purchase order management team regarding purchase orders and delivery timelines. Ensure alignment with allocation, planning, visual merchandising, e-commerce, and logistics teams for on-time product launches. Build visuals for product storytelling for internal and external presentations.
Degree or diploma in Fashion, Business, Merchandising, Retail, or a related field. 1-2 years of relevant buying, merchandising, planning, or allocation experience (footwear experience is a strong asset). Strong fashion sense paired with a sharp understanding of footwear trends, construction, and consumer behavior. Exceptional analytical skills; comfortable navigating data and translating numbers into narratives. Highly organized with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to balance creative thinking with commercial decision making. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Passion for footwear, product storytelling, and staying ahead of fashion culture. Knowledge of US market is a plus.
