The Buy-In Analyst will focus on daily operations, including data entry, processing, reconciliation, and maintenance according to established procedures. The role involves managing exceptions by escalating to team leads and department managers to ensure compliance, and identifying and mitigating risks through operational reviews and adherence to procedures.
Provide customer service to RBC Clients regarding Buy-In Notices and short accounts.
Process standardized transactions such as Frozen Letters and PairOffs.
Respond to inquiries from internal departments, retail personnel, correspondent firms, and management.
Escalate questions to appropriate resources following departmental policies.
Understand department procedures and accountabilities.
Suggest process changes to reduce risk.
Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, pressured environment.
Possess good communication skills for effective collaboration.
Complete special projects and assignments accurately and timely.
Basic knowledge of the brokerage business.
Strong Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
2+ years of relevant reconciliation experience in financial services, preferably capital markets or trading operations.
Post-secondary education or equivalent.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively and reliably under pressure with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Team player who can collaborate effectively across multiple functions and geographies.
Knowledge of ADP, DTC, CDS (Backoffice systems).
Knowledge of DTC, CNS, Reconciliation, Buyin rules and other regulations mandated by FINRA/IIROC.
Experience speaking with Front Office/Middle office personnel.
Understanding of accounting principles and experience reconciling General Ledger and Nostro accounts (Nice-to-have).
Other technical skills such as Python, VBA, SQL, or other automation tools (Nice-to-have).
Knowledge of ADP-Broadridge, Cage III, Stock Record (Nice-to-have).
Strong knowledge of DTC SMARTRACKS Buy-In procedures (CNS & NON-CNS BUY-Ins) (Nice-to-have).
Ability to meet strict NSCC/DTC deadlines (Nice-to-have).
Familiarity with Stock Loan & Stock Borrow procedures (Nice-to-have).
Understanding of Balancing Reconciliations/ Position and Cash (Nice-to-have).
Knowledge of sub-ledger accounting systems and month-end close processes (Nice-to-have).
Experience/working knowledge of rates derivatives products (Interest Rate Swaps, Cross Currency Swaps, Forward Rate Agreements) and related processing procedures (Nice-to-have).
Familiarity with trading and risk management systems such as Murex, Infinity, or similar platforms (Nice-to-have).
