The Business Management Specialist manages various business management activities for complex or high-risk functional areas, implementing policies and initiatives to achieve strategic business management, strategy, and governance objectives. This role specifically supports Board of Directors and committee meetings, manages subsidiary governance, and ensures regulatory obligations are met for TD’s U.S. entities, requiring close collaboration with senior executives.
Manage a diverse portfolio of business management activities for complex or high-risk functional areas.,Implement policies, processes, and initiatives to achieve business management, strategy, and governance objectives.,Act as a lead within a specialized business management function and provide work direction or guidance to others.,Lead or oversee work activities requiring alignment across multiple areas.,Lead or manage the integrated implementation of policies, processes, procedures, and changes across multiple functional areas.,Provide direction or input to complex, wide-ranging enterprise or cross-function projects as a subject matter expert.,Facilitate key discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audiences.,Adhere to enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to business management activities.,Actively manage relationships with corporate and control functions to ensure alignment with enterprise and regulatory requirements.,Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.,Maintain a culture of risk management and control, ensuring business operations comply with applicable internal and external requirements.,Lead relevant governance meetings or committees and related deliverables.,Lead or facilitate action/remediation plans to address performance, risk, or governance issues.
Undergraduate degree.,7+ years relevant experience.,Strong knowledge of corporate governance and/or subsidiary governance in a corporate legal department or Corporate Secretary's office.,Experience supporting board and committee meetings, including managing task lists, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.,Experience drafting formal and informal board communications, memorandums, resolutions, and consents.,Experience maintaining corporate records such as minute books, board materials, and corporate entity filings.,Experience supporting subsidiary governance operations.,Experience supporting subsidiary compliance and governance aspects of business development and M&A transactions.,Working knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations applicable to corporate governance.,Experience working in a regulatory environment.
