Business Capability Owner

Description

This role is for a Business Capability Owner Delegate within the Payment and Deposits Solutions team at TD Securities. The successful candidate will be responsible for specialized product development of payment and deposit capabilities, leveraging Agile/Scrum methodologies. This involves understanding how Payments and Deposits functions serve multiple business areas in leading financial institutions, interpreting business challenges, recommending development opportunities, and leading cross-functional projects to create new solutions. The role also contributes to TD's Payment Modernization Program, focusing on regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, payment products, SWIFT, and Correspondent Banking Services across TD's global operations.

What We're Looking For

Lead and integrate cross-functional understanding of Payments & Deposits Products, including the Strategy, defining Product Vision, Business Capability Maps, and Business Outcomes Roadmaps tied to business goals.,Monitor the regulatory environment, understand emerging industry mandates, and ensure these are incorporated into Product Strategies, considering impact to business stakeholders and customers.,Explore new product capabilities, develop business cases for product requests and confirm product initiative scope to be shared across impacted stakeholders.,Identify, document, and validate current state processes and support stakeholders to design the desired future state target operating model (TOM); provide recommendations and/or direction based on the end-to-end customer experience when making decisions.,Lead, analyze, document, and manage requirements with stakeholders by applying a variety of techniques to probe, elicit, challenge, understand, and gain consensus on requirements.,Prioritize requirements based on inputs from Business Stakeholders & understanding of broader Roadmap priorities for business outcomes.,Empowered to make delivery decisions and assess/mitigate/manage risks.,Manage end-to-end traceability from business goals to business rules and features, epics, user stories, and test cases.,Drive the team to plan and execute regular Business Stakeholder Demos for completed product increments to demonstrate progress and gather feedback; includes compiling and sharing of team performance metrics.,Plan for people & process changes, coordinate with impacted stakeholders, and execute change plans (i.e., documentation, socialization, communications, training).,Employ Agile, Product Owner mindset, Shift Left testing methodologies and best practices utilizing collaborative tools like Jira, JTMF, and Confluence to ensure projects progress in the right direction.,Keep current on emerging trends, tools, and techniques to improve product development and delivery, including best practices from Design Thinking and Lean Startup methodologies.,Contribute to a culture of innovation, actively seeking ways to enhance capability and performance efficiency.,Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external partners, acting as an ambassador for the business area and the bank.,Effectively engage and update stakeholders, ensuring understanding of project timelines and strategic alignment with senior management.,Influence senior stakeholders and guide team members in the area of expertise, managing expectations and collaborating across teams to achieve business objectives.,Compile and communicate performance metrics to relevant stakeholders.,Convey complex concepts clearly, transforming information into compelling business narratives.,Effectively communicate product changes and backlog priorities to stakeholders.,Utilize critical thinking and conflict resolution skills to address complex challenges.,Recommend best practices for improving products, processes, or services.,Solve intricate problems and develop innovative solutions through sophisticated analytical thinking.

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate degree required.,7+ years relevant experience.,3+ years in Project Management, Product Owner, Testing Practices, and/or Agile delivery experience.,Certifications such as PMP, Agile Certified Practitioner, or Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) are assets.,Proficient in MS Office and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.,Consulting and / or strategy experience preferred.,Tier 1 bank or financial institution experience preferred.,Strong oral and written communication skills.,Ability to work collaboratively and independently, exercising sound judgment.,Skilled in data analysis and capable of thriving in ambiguous situations.,Demonstrated storytelling skills and documentation skills.
