Business Application Specialist, VCP

Description

The Business Application Specialist will join the TD Securities (TDS) Value Creation Plan team, focusing on the efficient delivery of major, cross-functional initiatives. The role involves managing the lifecycle of business applications, from strategy and deployment to performance, access, data integrity, and compliance. The specialist will collaborate with business partners, manage budgets, contribute to project artifacts, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls. The position requires a proactive individual who can build relationships, provide thought leadership, and contribute to a positive team environment while staying current with industry trends and supporting continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

Owns and/or maintains a 3-year roadmap for business applications to align with strategic and tactical business directions.,Acts as the business application lead/owner/manager for application strategy, delivery, performance, access, data availability & integrity, data retention & disposition, remediation alignment, priorities, and communication.,Responsible for deployment and change management for initiatives related to owned/managed applications.,Manages the budget for application and technology (excluding innovation).,Provides Business SME ownership/input into project artifacts (ideation, business case, BRD, DIA, SRS, etc.).,Ensures compliance with guidelines and controls for customer information protection and application risk/privacy, including enterprise application/data lifecycle practices.,Manages access approvals and attestation.,Manages/owns the infrastructure/operational budget for the application and prioritizes/approves initiatives.,Works with business partners to provide input on work processes and system changes.,Participates in large Enterprise programs as an SME for business functionality.,Reviews Business Application Risk Assessments (BARA) annually and participates in regulatory reviews (e.g., Basel Data Governance Ongoing Compliance Program).,Communicates planned system outages to business partners.,Reviews and signs off on project documentation and deployment.,Coordinates with stakeholders to develop sound business cases, emphasizing reusability, scalability, innovation, and enterprise-wide solutions.,Owns overall accountability for application risk and controls, managing risk assessments and testing.,Ensures adherence to guidelines and regulatory requirements (Privacy, Legal, Compliance, Office of the Chief Data Officer).,Reviews and approves new project intake requests and provides direction.,Tracks project progress and assists in preparing monthly project reporting and executive dashboards.,Builds and maintains positive relationships with businesses, technology groups, and stakeholders.,Maintains an 'end to end' view of the customer, business, and processes to triage new requests.,Identifies and understands emerging risks, ensuring mitigation in business requirements and solutions.,Ensures team compliance with procedure guidelines for satisfactory audit results.,Manages relationships with project team members, third-party vendors, and client areas.,Oversees solution implementation and works with business leaders to optimize service availability, efficiency, and effectiveness.,Participates as a team member, fostering a positive work environment and timely communication.,Provides thought leadership and industry knowledge, participating in knowledge transfer.,Stays current on emerging trends and grows knowledge of the business, tools, and techniques.,Participates in personal performance management, development activities, and cross-training.,Keeps others informed about project status and daily activities.,Contributes to team development through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and best practices.,Leads, motivates, and develops relationships with internal and external partners.,Contributes to a fair, positive, and equitable diverse workforce environment.,Acts as a brand ambassador for the business area/function and the bank.
