Box Maker - 12 Hour, Days, C-Shift

Description

This hands-on role at Saputo involves working in a 24/7 manufacturing facility in Delhi, NY, primarily focusing on operating, maintaining, and cleaning machinery for box making and other related dairy production tasks. The position requires adherence to safety and food quality standards, cross-training in various operations like milk receiving, pasteurization, batching, and product filling, and maintaining accurate production records. Candidates must be able to work in a demanding environment with changing temperatures and physical labor.

What We're Looking For

Cross-train in milk receiving, pasteurization, batching/blend, and product filling operations.,Follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) without deviation.,Inspect bulk tankers and collect raw dairy samples for sensory evaluation and physical testing (visual, odor, flavor, antibiotic, oil and fat).,Report out-of-specifications or deviations to the supervisor promptly.,Safely hook-up and off-load tanker trucks, ensuring proper venting.,Pump raw dairy product into specified bulk tanks.,Clean and CIP (Clean-in-Place) tankers and perform routine SIP (Sanitize-in-Place) operations.,Mix, blend, and batch product blends according to customer recipes and specifications.,Follow mix guidelines for ingredient accuracy, usage, and tracking.,Process product in accordance with state and federal guidelines, including pasteurization requirements (PMO, Company product process/pasteurization).,Review daily time and temperature charts, report variances, and develop corrective action plans for FSMA compliance.,Perform Filler Operator duties: operation, set-up, product change-overs, adjustments.,Review fill weights, conduct packaging quality inspections and tests, and document variances.,Identify and communicate out-of-specification product conditions following established protocols.,Perform routine equipment adjustments.,Safely operate a lift truck.,Accurately complete production records and documents.,Perform equipment change-overs, clean-up operations, and equipment set-up.,Perform environmental controls.,Perform product reclaim and rework operations per guidelines.,Unload trucks and follow inventory control guidelines.,Support internal and external audits.,Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.,Follow all established GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Food Safety requirements.,Cross-train with other departments.,Perform good housekeeping.,Comply with federal, state, and local dairy food regulations.,Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics, Company Values, and Workplace Climate Policy.,Collaborate with co-workers and other department personnel.,Perform other duties as required by management.

Ideal Candidate

High school diploma or equivalent.,Minimum of 2 years demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing; dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.,Advanced quality/food safety training and/or certifications (plus, but not required).,Working understanding of food manufacturing acronyms (SQF, QA/QC, CQP, HACCP, SOP, 5S, GMP).,Successful completion of drug screen and background check.

Work Hours

Thursday, Friday, Saturday & every other Wednesday 6am-6:30pm (12-hour shifts); includes working weekends; work overtime as required; shift flexibility
