The Senior Commercial Credit Advisor supports Relationship Managers in managing credit renewals and adjudicating files under $3MM Total Single Name Exposure. This role involves reviewing and establishing Borrower Risk Ratings, ensuring credit structures mitigate risks, and approving transaction requests and policy exceptions within delegated lending authorities. The advisor is responsible for delivering superior client service, structuring client-centric transactions, and fostering strong partnerships with internal teams to optimize processes and reduce response times.
Support Relationship Managers (RM) in credit renewal and adjudication of files <$3 MM Total Single Name Exposure, including increases at renewal.,Review and establish Borrower Risk Rating ensuring credit structures mitigate credit risks.,Adjudicate transaction requests and approve policy exceptions within Delegated Lending Authorities.,Deliver superior client service by structuring transactions with a client centric approach.,Create strong partnerships with CAM, Group Risk Management and Business Service Centre to optimize internal processes.,Develop and utilize specialized knowledge of specific industry/segment(s) to support RM credit needs.,Assist RMs with completing monthly credit renewals, balancing client needs and high-risk situations.,Exercise due diligence in preparing credit renewals adjudication regarding know your client, know the transaction, credit structure, risk analysis, and client strategy.,Identify risk issues and take proactive action, staying updated on economic trends and Credit Administration & Compliance Trends.,Develop strong working relationships with RMs to optimize overall processing time.,Assist RMs in maximizing opportunity spotting to enhance retention, referrals, and sales activities.,Effectively/proactively manage the credit renewal process to provide RMs with more client-facing time.,Demonstrate commitment to teamwork and collaboration through coaching.
Previous Commercial Banking, Small Business lending or credit experience.,Knowledge of commercial financial services credit tools, including Newton & Synergie.,Strong Business Acumen.,Solid company financial statement analysis skills.,Professional oral and written communication skills.,Degree in a Finance, Commerce, Management or an accounting related field.,Bilingualism (English and French).,CFA (Nice-to-have).,MBA (Nice-to-have).,Experience as a Commercial Account/Relationship Manager (Nice-to-have).
