This role at CIBC involves providing proactive control advice to improve the bank's control environment. The manager will participate in planning, executing, and reporting large and complex regulatory and non-regulatory remediation validations across various business lines, especially Finance and Treasury. Key responsibilities include designing and executing audit steps, providing an independent opinion on the effectiveness of management's remediation efforts and controls, and building strong relationships with internal business partners.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute remediation validation activities.,Effectively manage multiple activities at different stages to ensure completion within required timelines.,Communicate regularly on progress and issues to ensure timely execution of deliverables.,Drive the development of deficiency remediation closure memos, assessing the adequacy of management remediation activities.,Provide trusted and proactive advice to business partners on their remediation activities.,Partner closely with the Finance and Treasury team to optimize progress on deficiency remediation and validation.,Demonstrate clear, concise, and influential written and verbal communication skills.,Develop strong internal and external relationships through ongoing communication and advice on risk, control, and regulatory matters.
Comprehensive knowledge of auditing practices and accounting principles and processes.,Strong knowledge with a focus on Finance and Treasury and the related regulatory environment in Canada.,Certified professional with an auditing or accounting designation (e.g., CPA-CA, CMA, CGA, ACCA, CIA, FRM, CRMA) or a business degree (e.g., MBA).,Business experience in the banking or financial services industry or internal/external audit assurance and consulting services.,Strong critical thinking skills.,Ability to build trust through respect and authenticity.
