The Manager, General Audit at CIBC is responsible for conducting risk-focused audits, advising business units on internal control design and implementation, and ensuring compliance with CIBC policies and relevant legislation. Conduct risk-focused audits.,Advise business units on the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls.,Promote compliance with CIBC policies and procedures, accounting standards, control policies, and applicable legislation.,Apply advanced concepts for developing and completing monthly, quarterly, and ongoing legal entity audit reports.,Work with business units to assess control adequacy and develop realistic solutions for control weaknesses.,Independently resolve complex matters and advise the business on best practices to mitigate risks.,Assess key business risks and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of related processes and controls.,Identify and communicate internal control weaknesses and inefficiencies to business line management.,Work collaboratively with audit management and team members to plan and execute risk-based audits and report results.,Perform continuous monitoring of management's control environment.,Participate in internal projects to improve and simplify audit processes.,Effectively manage multiple audit assignments and complete tasks on a timely basis.
Experience in planning & executing audits.,Comprehensive knowledge of auditing practices, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and Risk Management principles.,Knowledge of Retail Banking within a large financial institution.,Bachelor or equivalent degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance (asset).,Professional designation (e.g., CPA, MBA, CIA, FRM, CRMA) or equivalent business experience (asset).,Strong critical thinking skills.,Ability to investigate complex problems and make sense of information.,Confident in communicating detailed information impactfully.,Driven by collective success and understanding of collaboration.,Strong influence and relationship-building skills.,Commitment to CIBC values: trust, teamwork, and accountability.
