Associate, Washington Policy Research

Description

The Policy Associate will be part of TD Cowen's Washington Research Group, collaborating with the Head of Policy Research on analysis, reports, and presentations related to policy and trends affecting various industries, with a primary focus on fiscal, tax, trade, and macro policy. Key tasks include writing, data analysis, curating reports, gathering and organizing data, creating charts, synthesizing information, and maintaining distribution lists. The role involves advancing knowledge to link research with marketing efforts and supporting the lead analyst in compiling and publishing high-quality analysis on public policy and economic developments.

What We're Looking For

Work with Head of Policy Research on analysis, reports and presentations related to policy and trends across industries, focusing on fiscal, tax, trade & macro policy.,Write, analyze data, curate sets of reports related to specific themes.,Gather and organize data from analysts, create charts/graphics, synthesize reports and maintain distribution lists.,Bridge research with marketing and drive differentiation.,Provide research support in compiling and publishing high quality, comprehensive analysis and research on public policy and economic developments.,Source data and write draft policy summaries/outlooks for publication in weekly/monthly/quarterly reports.,Independently attend and engage with policy makers and industry associations in Washington DC, NY, TX, CA, and Canada.,Support lead analyst in conducting deep-dive policy analysis surrounding key topics in the power and transportation space for publication.,Support lead analyst in communicating with internal sales and banking colleagues and ahead of client-focused marketing and events.,Support lead analysts in sourcing and coordinating with policy thought leaders for policy calls and virtual/in person DC policy days.

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate degree, economics, or political science preferred,2+ years of related experience, preferably in government service and/or public policy,Experience with policy analysis – regulatory and legislative,Experience with US federal and and state political process,Experience with high emitting economic sectors (power, transport, etc) and pathways to decarbonization,Experience with concepts and principles behind sustainable investment

Minimum Education

Undergraduate Degree (Economics or Political Science preferred)
