Associate, U.S. Region Financial Performance Management

Description

This role involves supporting the US financial performance management (FPM) team by conducting financial and strategic analysis for RBC's US businesses, including Capital Markets, CNB, Wealth Management, and RBC Bank. The associate will coordinate the Quarterly Business Review process for the RBC US Region, support FPM processes like management reporting, annual operating plans, and strategic projects, and develop financial performance analytics. The role also includes business advisory responsibilities through engagement, strategic analytics, and projects.

What We're Looking For

Support financial performance analysis (US GAAP) and strategic projects for US Legal entities (RIHC, CUSO, CMLLC).,Support the production of the annual business plan/5-year outlook/quarterly forecasts.,Maintain and enhance US Finance reporting capabilities through automation, EPM enhancements, and new analytics development.,Develop financial performance analytics for quarterly RIHC Board meetings.,Provide support to Senior Managers for ad hoc projects, management reporting, and data mining.,Provide legal entity financials based on regulatory requests and exams.,Aid in translating business strategy into financial impact, identifying risks and opportunities.,Support senior business leaders with financial insights, including reviewing results, peer comparables, and what-if analysis.,Partner with Financial Control teams for goodwill impairment analysis.,Support legal entity forecasting process (US GAAP and IFRS) for tax planning inputs.,Support Capital Markets financial performance analysis.

Ideal Candidate

3-5 years of relevant work experience.,Degree in Accounting/Finance.,Broad comprehension of Capital Markets and Financial Services Industry.,Experience using IBM Cognos/TM1.,Advanced expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.,Advanced analytical skills.,Broad understanding of U.S. regulatory environment including FBO's and IHCs.,Strong presentational and public speaking activities.,Strategic business sense and organizational awareness (Nice-to-have).,Independent and critical thinker (Nice-to-have).,Effective communication & comfort level interacting with senior executives (Nice-to-have).,Operationally savvy, action-oriented, strives for improvement (Nice-to-have).,Results-driven, ability to meet deadlines and exceed expectations (Nice-to-have).,Fosters an environment based upon responsibility and accountability (Nice-to-have).,Dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty (Nice-to-have).
