Description

The Associate, Real Estate Finance, within CIBC's Commercial Banking team, is responsible for processing mortgage renewals and assumptions across Eastern Canada. This role involves the daily management of a commercial mortgage portfolio, conducting due diligence on borrower, bond, and property information, and preparing credit applications in collaboration with Account Managers for approval by CIBC Risk Management. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of clients, the real estate sector, regulatory matters, and economic trends. The individual will also participate in loan administration processes, including annual reviews and ensuring compliance with bank and industry policies.

What We're Looking For

Participate in loan administration processes by conducting renewals and annual reviews of various credits.,Comply with all applicable Bank and industry policies, guidelines, and controls, and ensure all mandatory training is completed.,Gather, review, and critically assess third-party due diligence reports on properties (e.g., property assessments, environmental assessments, property fitness assessments, construction cost consultant reports).,Liaise between the central credit department (STC) and relationship managers, and between collateral analysts (ATC), relationship managers, and clients for credit letters and Visa Entreprises.,Actively identify maturing credits, review lists with relationship managers, and follow up on necessary financial data and documents as stipulated in credit agreements.,Complete preparatory documents to facilitate renewal or annual review processes.,Prepare credit applications for submission to and authorization by the CIBC Risk Management Unit.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Real Estate Management.,Legally admissible to work in Canada.
