Associate Director, U.S. Credit Risk Review

Description

This role within RBC's Credit Risk Review (CRR) team involves providing independent and objective evaluations of credit risk management practices, particularly for Wholesale and Wealth Management portfolios in the United States. The successful candidate will ensure the effectiveness of internal controls, credit risk ratings, and corporate governance processes, engaging with various stakeholders including senior leadership and regulators. Key responsibilities include leading and participating in various credit review activities such as Target Reviews, Continuous Monitoring Reviews, and Risk Assessments.

What We're Looking For

Lead and participate in the execution of CRR reviews for Wholesale and Wealth Management portfolios, evaluating risk rating accuracy, underwriting, portfolio management, emerging risks, and compliance with regulations and RBC policies.,Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to junior team members.,Execute the risk-based annual plan in collaboration with CRR leadership and stakeholders.,Review borrower and portfolio-level credit risk, identify remediation actions, and communicate findings.,Conduct risk assessments of assigned industries/portfolios.,Evaluate and recommend improvements to risk frameworks, governance, and internal processes.,Interface with internal and external stakeholders to identify, document, and resolve risks.,Identify opportunities to leverage data and analytics to enhance CRR processes.,Collaborate with credit risk stakeholders across all three lines of defense.

Ideal Candidate

7+ years of experience in wholesale credit in an underwriting, adjudication, credit risk review, audit, consulting, and/or regulatory capacity.,Strong knowledge of capital markets, lending products, and regulatory guidance.,Graduate degree (e.g., Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Finance, Master of Science in Economics etc.) - Nice to Have.,Regulatory background in a supervision and regulation role - Nice to Have.
