Moderna is seeking an Associate Director for Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) in Australia and New Zealand. This high-impact role involves leading the HEOR strategy for Moderna’s vaccine portfolio, focusing on evidence plans to influence pricing, reimbursement, market access, and institutional decision-making. The individual will adapt global economic models, develop reimbursement dossiers, engage with scientific and assessment processes, and manage external vendors. The position requires translating complex data into value narratives and effectively communicating with stakeholders. This role is a sole contributor, based in Melbourne, with a reporting line to the Executive Director of Global HEOR for Infectious Disease and a dotted line to the Director of Market Access, Australia.

What We're Looking For

Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of local HEOR strategies and evidence generation tailored to Australia and New Zealand.,Adapt global cost-effectiveness, budget impact, and public health economic models to support HTA submissions.,Oversee the development of comprehensive reimbursement dossiers and materials submitted to ATAGI, PBAC, and PHARMAC.,Represent HEOR in early scientific engagement and formal assessment processes to shape pricing and recommendation strategies.,Manage external vendors to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality deliverables aligned with local and global expectations.,Translate technical HEOR evidence into strategic insights relevant to HTA, NITAG, and institutional decision-makers.,Develop localized value communication assets that support payer and institutional engagement.,Ensure seamless alignment between global value dossiers and regional adaptations, while contributing insights back into global strategy.,Track timelines, manage budgets, and contribute to congress abstracts and peer-reviewed publications.,Support the development of data visualizations and digital communication tools for omnichannel outreach.,Strong sense of accountability, owning both strategy and execution.,Ability to integrate digital tools and real-world data.

Ideal Candidate

Master’s degree in health economics, epidemiology, public health, pharmacy, or a related scientific field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.,Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or vaccines industry.,Hands-on experience with Australian HTA submissions (e.g., PBAC, ATAGI).,Deep knowledge of Australia and New Zealand healthcare and reimbursement systems, including distinctions between PHARMAC and PBAC.,Familiarity with NITAG/HTA decision-making processes (ATAGI, PBAC, PHARMAC).,Experience with public and private payer engagement.,Experience in developing economic models.,Experience in real-world data generation.,Experience in value dossiers, tender dossiers and dossiers supporting vaccine recommendations.,Demonstrated ability to manage multiple HEOR projects and collaborate across functions.,Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex evidence into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.,Strong knowledge of evidence-based medicine standards, HEOR research best practices, patient reported outcomes, data and analytics methods.,Comfort operating in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with evolving priorities and limited structure.,Proven experience working with external vendors, consultants, and cross-functional teams.
