Associate Director, Business Analytics & Insights, Clinical Operations

This strategic role at Moderna in Toronto is central to the Clinical Development Operations (CDO) analytics transformation. The individual will design, implement, and maintain robust financial and operational data systems and tools to enhance decision-making and forecasting accuracy across the clinical portfolio. Key responsibilities include applying advanced analytics to optimize study design, planning, vendor negotiations, and cost forecasting, with a strong emphasis on data governance, innovation, and automation.

What We're Looking For

Design, implement, and maintain systems and tools for predictive analytics and benchmarking for clinical study delivery and cost forecasting.,Drive cross-functional collaborations to convert clinical business needs into actionable analytical solutions.,Manage and analyze large and complex datasets using data wrangling, modeling, and pipeline development techniques.,Oversee internal and external system implementations related to financial and operational analytics for clinical development.,Deliver accurate and timely insights through dashboards and monthly reporting to track performance metrics.,Lead business analytics projects with scalability and best-practice methodology.,Support CDO and R&D Finance in establishing best-in-class systems, training, and processes for financial planning and clinical study forecasting.,Provide subject matter expertise in clinical budget forecasting, accruals reporting, variance analysis, and long-range financial planning.,Model clinical study spend, develop and maintain accurate clinical cost models and assumptions.,Facilitate data-sharing assessments with internal and external partners while applying data governance and master data management principles.,Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a clinical research environment within the pharmaceutical, CRO, and biotech industry, inclusive of data analytics experience.,Direct experience in implementation and management of clinical pricing, benchmarking tools and systems to support operational & financial aspects of clinical studies.,Experience developing and executing analytic solutions to address key business questions with measurable outcomes and insights.,Track record of establishing effective business relationships with internal and external customers, demonstrating strong collaboration skills, commitment to relationship building, and a relentless focus in delivering on commitments.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD from a top-tier institution and relevant experience.,Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a clinical research environment within the pharmaceutical, CRO and biotech industry, inclusive of data analytics experience.,Direct experience in implementation and management of clinical pricing, benchmarking tools and systems to support operational & financial aspects of clinical studies.,Experience developing and executing analytic solutions to address key business questions with measurable outcomes and insights.,Track record of establishing effective business relationships with internal and external customers, demonstrating strong collaboration skills, commitment to relationship building, and a relentless focus in delivering on commitments.
