The Associate Director, Balance Sheet Advisory, is a key member of the global Balance Sheet Advisory team. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert for the Wholesale businesses (Capital Markets and Treasury Services), leading and participating in projects related to Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) for Capital Markets' businesses, while streamlining and enhancing reporting capabilities for funding and liquidity cost allocation. Responsibilities also include acting as a liaison between Wholesale businesses, Corporate Treasury, and Wholesale Business Finance Advisory to optimize funding and liquidity costs and enhance FTP methodology and operational processes. The role involves managing and designing processes to allocate funds transfer pricing costs to wholesale businesses, continuously monitoring and analyzing FTP methodologies through implementation.
Lead and implement initiatives to enhance accuracy and allocation of funding and liquidity costs to Capital Markets businesses in accordance with Corporate Treasury's FTP methodologies, providing transparency over FTP charges.,Design and implement enhanced allocation mechanisms for Capital Markets' FTP costs to support the alignment of funding and liquidity costs with asset profile requirements.,Analyze and decompose residual funding costs and spearhead initiatives to optimize the pushout/clean-up of unallocated funding costs/benefits based on existing funding flows and FTP framework.,Track and document revisions to FTP allocation on an ongoing basis.,Steer actions and management options, awareness, and education of the application of Funds Transfer Pricing methodologies within Capital Markets businesses.,Manage monthly term liquidity premium allocations to Capital Markets businesses and ensure implementation accuracy.,Forecast and analyze funds transfer pricing costs for Capital Markets businesses based on forecasted balance sheet usage, and advise relevant stakeholders while offering strategic insight on optimizing financial resource deployment.,Establish effective business tools to assist the business in understanding funding costs to better price transactions to revenue targets and/or return hurdles.,Analyze individual business group processes in support of improving cross-functional optimization solutions.,Ensure ongoing adherence to internal policy standards and industry best practices.,Support Capital Markets teams as well as various enterprise groups by providing information and fulfilling processes as required related to funding and liquidity costs.,Optimize the use of new technology and information systems updates to improve process and system efficiency including data improvement initiatives.,Get involved with various projects as required and support the management of financial resources across the Balance Sheet Advisory team, including RWA, Leverage, Capital, Balance Sheet, Funding and Liquidity.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or another quantitative discipline.,3-7 years of experience in Treasury, FTP, Capital Markets, ALM or Financial/Management reporting.,Strong knowledge of FTP concepts including liquidity premiums, cost of funds, and balance sheet mechanics (loans, deposits, derivatives, securities, wholesale funding).,Project management experience with strong leadership in working with cross-functional teams and ability to work independently and manage numerous priorities simultaneously.,Advanced analytical skills including working proficiency in Excel (complex formulas, pivoting, modelling) and strong communication skills for presenting complex FTP methodologies to stakeholders.,Attention to details with strong documentation skills.,CA-CPA or CFA designation holder, other accounting or finance designation, FRM, MBA or equivalent related designation preferred (Nice-to-have).,Exposure to Capital Markets and understanding of RBC CM business (Nice-to-have).,Solid knowledge of asset liquidity profile and funding requirements for major product and asset classes within capital markets (Nice-to-have).,Knowledge of RBC financial systems (e.g. EPM) and associated procedures (Nice-to-have).,VBA, Power BI, Tableau or other visualization/automation skills (Nice-to-have).
