Associate Director - Surveillance Technical Support Lead

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing team within RBC's Client Banking and Digital Technology (CBDT) Production Services. The role involves supporting communication surveillance technology operations and associated upstream/downstream applications. The team's mission is to deliver best-in-class service by ensuring maximum system stability through efficiency, automation, capacity management, and risk mitigation for a major North American Capital Markets organization.

What We're Looking For

Maintain advanced technical and business knowledge of communication/surveillance systems for production platform support.,Drive continuous platform evolution through automation of manual processes and actions.,Develop technical solutions aligned with key surveillance objectives and business needs.,Collaborate with the Change The Bank (CTB) team and external vendors on agile-based development initiatives.,Champion ITIL Service Transition, implementing Production Readiness and License to Operate models.,Identify and communicate critical enhancements, proactively surfacing risks and business issues via JIRA.,Leverage strong communication and presentation abilities to create business stakeholder content using Confluence, PowerPoint, and Excel.,Manage disaster recovery planning and execution, maintaining internal configuration management and risk systems.,Oversee applications throughout their complete lifecycle across multiple platforms and tools.,Take end-to-end ownership of assigned projects, resolving roadblocks and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outcomes.

Ideal Candidate

Demonstrated expertise in ITIL Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management principles.,Proficiency with RHEL, Unix, Linux, and Windows environments, including scripting in Perl, Bash, Python, PowerShell, and batch scripting.,Experience containerizing and orchestrating applications using Docker and Kubernetes.,Strong background with relational databases such as MS SQL and Sybase, with ability to write and optimize database queries.,Proven track record establishing proactive application monitoring across multiple environments using tools like ITRS Geneos, Nagios, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, ELK, and Grafana.,Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands.,Strong stakeholder management skills and clear understanding of business requirements and objectives.,Nice to have: Experience with surveillance management applications (e.g., Smarsh Enterprise Conduct, Csurv, Theatalake).,Nice to have: Minimum three years of professional experience in Financial Technology or Capital Markets technology environments.,Nice to have: Proficiency with BMC Control-M for batch scheduling, or experience with Autosys, Tidal.,Nice to have: Deep knowledge of Capital Markets operations, including sales tooling and CRM platforms.,Nice to have: Disciplined and methodical approach to documenting processes, issues, and user stories in Confluence and Jira.
