Associate Director - Full-Stack Developer, Group Risk Management - Wealth Management Risk Management

Description

The Associate Director will play a crucial role in RBC's Second Line of Defense, focusing on developing and maintaining tools to identify, assess, and monitor risks across RBC Wealth Management's fiduciary investment activities. This involves ensuring that risk management practices align with RBC's risk appetite, regulatory standards, and fiduciary obligations to safeguard client interests and support the business's long-term sustainability.

What We're Looking For

Develop tools to identify, monitor, and assess various portfolio risks (e.g., market, credit, liquidity, concentration, leverage) using quantitative and qualitative metrics.,Contribute to independent oversight and challenge to the first line of defense, ensuring adherence to risk limits and regulatory requirements.,Develop tools for stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate portfolio performance under adverse market conditions.,Develop tools to aid risk management practices align with fiduciary obligations and regulatory standards.,Prepare and present risk reports to senior management and risk committees, providing actionable insights.,5+ years of Full-stack software development experience, with comfort in both back-end database and front-end UI development.,Undergraduate or master's degree in software or computer engineering or computer science.,Fluency with multiple programming, database, and analytic environments (e.g., Python, Snowflake, Excel, SQL, Tableau).,Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.,Ability to drive multiple complex development projects in parallel and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate or master's degree in software or computer engineering or computer science.,Experience in investment risk management, including market, credit, and liquidity risks (Nice-to-have).,Graduate degree or professional designation (e.g., CFA, FRM, PRM) in finance, mathematics, economics, or risk management (Nice-to-have).,Proficiency in risk metrics, stress testing, scenario analysis, and portfolio risk evaluation (Nice-to-have).,Experience in wealth management, discretionary portfolio management, asset management, or other fiduciary investment activities (Nice-to-have).,Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and drive effective risk management practices (Nice-to-have).,Strong analytical skills and familiarity with advanced risk modeling tools and methodologies (Nice-to-have).

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree (in software/computer engineering or computer science); Graduate degree or professional designation (e.g., CFA, FRM, PRM) in finance, mathematics, economics, or risk management is a plus.
