Associate Director - Controls and Governance, Operational Risk Specialist

Description

This role at RBC is for a mid to senior-level risk specialist within Global Product Control. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust risk and control frameworks across the organization. The position involves bridging governance, operational risk management, and metrics tracking to ensure effective documentation and execution of control activities, and systematic monitoring of risks within enterprise registers.

What We're Looking For

Own the submissions, maintenance, and continuous improvement of risk and control registers across Global PC.,Coordinate risk identification and assessment activities and manage the operational risk reporting cycle.,Prepare risk dashboards and escalate emerging risks through appropriate governance channels.,Design and track key performance indicators for control health and maturity; establish data pipelines to automate metrics collection.,Partner with first-line business teams, Internal Audit, Compliance, and second-line functions to maintain alignment and ensure consistency in control documentation.,Support management of audit recommendations.,Create and maintain control narratives, process flow documentation.,Support the design of operational processes with embedded control points and risk considerations.,Potentially leverage Agentic technology to accelerate regular activities.

Ideal Candidate

A minimum of 4 years' experience in Product Control or Operational Risk.,Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.,Demonstrated background in operating risk and control frameworks.,Experience with risk and control registers, control testing, and operational risk assessments.,Experience documenting operational processes, identifying control points, and designing control procedures.,Familiarity with risk and control narrative development.,Capital markets or Product Control experience (nice-to-have).,Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large, publicly-traded corporation (nice-to-have).
