Description

The Associate Director – Actuarial role within Group Risk Management Insurance (GRMI) focuses on providing critical actuarial transformation support and thought leadership. Key responsibilities include leading IFRS17 Day 2 implementation and various process improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will drive month-end processing and data integrity enhancements as part of the Finance & Actuarial Transformation Program, working collaboratively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to boost reporting accuracy, resolve technical issues, and shape future actuarial capabilities.

What We're Looking For

Lead Finance & Actuarial Transformation workstreams to enhance reporting process efficiency and accuracy.,Drive problem resolution for IFRS17 issues through in-depth root cause analysis, solution development, comprehensive testing, and process optimization.,Develop analysis, reconciliation, validation, and reporting tools along with corresponding documentation to support GRMI processes and accurate financial reporting.,Operate within an Agile implementation framework, participating in program planning and ensuring timely deliverables.,Collaborate cross-functionally with project teams, Business as Usual teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure robust solutions with consideration for upstream and downstream impacts.,Summarize complex findings into clear, actionable presentations and recommendations for senior leadership and regulatory stakeholders.,Lead and contribute to strategic ad-hoc projects as the transformation program evolves, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and regulatory requirements.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor's degree majoring in Actuarial Science or other relevant Majors (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, Economics).,FSA or close to FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries).,Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail for complex problem solving and investigative work.,Expert user of Microsoft Excel and Power Query.,Knowledge and work experience with programming languages including, but not limited to, Python, SQL, R, VBA.,Experience building in Tableau and/or PowerBI.,Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional collaboration.,Ability to project plan and manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.,Knowledge of IFRS 17 Standard and its implications to insurance companies.,Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey technical results to non-technical audiences.,Ability to deal with ambiguity and flexibility to adapt to change.,Ability and willingness to partner effectively with other actuarial leaders and leaders of other functional areas.,Nice-to-have: Knowledge of a broad area of Insurance expertise (by product and by function) gained through 6+ years of direct or indirect related work experience and training.,Nice-to-have: Experience working with Moody's AXIS Actuarial software including EnterpriseLink and GridLink and related system environment.
