This role at CIBC involves managing a portfolio of commercial real estate (CRE) loans, focusing on client experience, risk monitoring, and credit actions. Interact with cross-vertical CRE Deal Team members to ensure optimal client experience after loan closing.,Ensure all customer financial reporting and covenants are collected on time and monitored for assigned transactions.,Complete analysis and documentation for credit actions such as renewals, waivers, modifications, and annual reviews for the assigned portfolio.,Serve as a resource for GPM Team Lead and/or RGPM in preparation for portfolio review meetings and communicate portfolio risk points.,Recommend appropriate risk ratings for assigned credits in collaboration with GPM and/or RGPM.,Conduct site visits and develop market expertise in areas with significant bank exposure.,Stay engaged and informed of the pipeline as deals progress through underwriting and closing.,Participate in industry events to maintain current market knowledge and client relationships.,Escalate potential asset quality issues outside of risk appetite or noteworthy risk profile trends to GPM and/or RGPM.,Serve as the client contact/resource/advocate at the Bank for portfolio-related issues, reporting, maintenance, or new requests on existing credit, and renewal activities.,Remain active and engaged in periodic client calls and visits as appropriate.,Ensure compliance with policy, procedure, and reference material governing loan originations and closings.,Support GPM, RGPM, HAM, and HPA by providing required data for Credit Review or regulatory exams (FRB/FDIC/OSFI).
Minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in underwriting, structuring, loan closing, documentation, and/or asset/portfolio management.,Understanding of financial risks (e.g., credit, market, liquidity) and non-financial risks (e.g., operational, compliance, reputation, strategic), as well as financial services businesses and products.,Excellent written and verbal communication skills.,Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.,Results-oriented with a high degree of attention to detail.,Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills.,Ability to develop credit expertise within Commercial Real Estate (CRE).
