This role at CIBC involves managing a portfolio of Asset-Based Lending (ABL) clients, building and maintaining strong client relationships, negotiating credit terms and structures, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The position also includes responsibilities related to credit underwriting and internal portfolio management, supporting the workflow of the Commercial Team of Relationship Managers and commercial lending associates, and making approvals within established guidelines for daily credit/portfolio administrative activity.
Manage a portfolio of Asset Based clients,Act as a trusted advisor to clients,Hold client discussions to negotiate credit terms and structures,Meet all compliance and regulatory requirements,Negotiate legal documents with outside attorneys,Ensure objectives related to credit underwriting and internal portfolio management are met,Support the workflow of the Commercial Team of RMs and commercial lending associates,Provide approval within established guidelines for daily credit/portfolio administrative activity,Primary responsibilities of Underwriting and Portfolio Management and execution of 1A risk management activities,Serve as the client's primary contact/resource/advocate for portfolio related issues/reporting/maintenance or new requests on existing credit,Lead renewal activities with existing clients,Remain active and engaged in periodic client calls and visits,Maintain Salesforce pipeline on existing clients,Drive the loan closing process,Present transactions to risk adjudication with Credit Executives,Execute syndication strategies when required and be involved in the closing process
College Degree with Accounting/Finance,10+ years of ABL credit experience,Working knowledge of ABLE or STUCKY operating system,Self-starter, takes initiative,Basic Microsoft Office and web-enabled prospecting skills,Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
