Description

The Applied Machine Learning Scientist I at TD Bank will work within the Compliance Oversight of Models Office (COMO) to ensure the ethical and responsible application of AI/ML models within the financial system. This role involves reviewing models across various business units, identifying and communicating compliance risks, and supporting the development of technical standards and training materials related to model compliance. The successful candidate will contribute to making AI/ML models explainable, transparent, and trustworthy while positioning TD as an industry leader in Responsible and Ethical AI.

What We're Looking For

Support compliance risk management for models used by TD.,Assist business units in monitoring regulatory compliance and mitigating risk throughout model lifecycles.,Identify and clearly communicate compliance model risks from design, implementation, and deployment to stakeholders.,Represent Compliance in major projects and initiatives.,Evaluate model development procedures and practices.,Support the development of technical standards and guidelines for model compliance risk.,Draft key compliance documents in coordination with stakeholders.,Develop training materials and guidelines for regulatory compliance in the model lifecycle.,Support research on identifying, assessing, and addressing modeling risks.,Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advanced modeling techniques.,Provide guidance and oversight for AI/ML systems.,Assist with responses to regulatory inquiries, examinations, and investigations.

Ideal Candidate

Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (preferably in computer science, math, statistics, engineering, or related quantitative field).,5+ years of relevant experience with model development.,Experience with/knowledge of methods, techniques, and tools to support model explainability and bias/fairness assessments.
