Description

The Advanced Analytics and AI team at CIBC is seeking an Applied AI Research Scientist to drive strategic direction in AI and Generative AI models. This individual contributor role involves tackling challenging projects in foundation models, multi-agent AI, and responsible AI, collaborating with academic institutions, and integrating state-of-the-art technologies. The role contributes to advancing cutting-edge AI technology and developing practical solutions for real-world problems within the bank.

What We're Looking For

Tackle difficult and meaningful projects in domains such as foundation models, multi-agent AI, and responsible AI.,Evaluate and apply advanced research in deep learning, NLP, predictive modeling, and related literature.,Integrate state-of-the-art tools, technologies, and methods to support the development and implementation of large generative models.,Work with other researchers, engineers, and product teams.,Represent CIBC in the research community, collaborating with faculty members in relevant AI research functions.,Be legally eligible to work at the specified location(s) and, where applicable, have a valid work or study permit.

Ideal Candidate

Advanced interdisciplinary knowledge in deep learning, natural language processing, and big data.,Track record of impactful projects and publications at top-tier venues (NeurIPS, ICLR, Nature, etc.).,Understanding of foundation model architecture, methods for pretraining and post-training, and model efficiency.,Excellent coding skills and hands-on experience in large-scale model training with GPU acceleration.,PhD in deep learning or other related disciplines, and 3+ years in related research experience OR equivalent experience.,Hands-on experience building end-to-end solutions with Large Language Models, or experience using cloud platforms and Databricks (considered assets).
