Application Engineering Specialist

Description

Vention is seeking an Application Engineering Specialist to join their Client Engineering department. This role involves creating structural and automated designs, advising clients on industrial solutions using Vention CAD software (MachineBuilder), and collaborating with various internal teams and external clients in the automotive, robotics, and aerospace industries. The specialist will be involved in pre-sale scope validation and ensuring client success in automation projects.

What We're Looking For

Create effective solutions/designs using Vention 3D MachineBuilder and modular components.

Lead design review sessions with clients, providing feedback and insights.

Review peers' and users' designs for performance, structural integrity, efficiency, and quality.

Occasionally create custom parts and drawings using standard CAD software.

Write requests for proposals for third-party components and interact with suppliers.

Support sales with the technical aspects of project agreements.

Run brainstorming sessions and technical post-mortems.

Help qualify projects and support the sales team with feasibility checks.

Establish references, standards, work methods, and best practices.

Support machine deployment and after-sales activities.

Willingness to travel to client sites up to twice per quarter.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum of 3 years of experience in the OEM or System Integrator field, with experience in a broad range of industrial automation applications (e.g., EOAT, Conveyors, Packaging, Welding).

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another related engineering field.

Demonstrated mentorship and support for peers in previous or current roles.

Possess a take-charge attitude with a solution-oriented mindset.

Strong desire to share knowledge and elevate colleagues.

Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, handling multiple projects simultaneously.

OIQ engineer permit certification is an asset.

Minimum Education
