The In Vivo Technician I at Charles River Laboratories in Spencerville, OH, is responsible for training and performing tasks related to animal research. This includes ensuring humane animal care, handling and restraining multiple species, monitoring food consumption, performing clinical observations, and accurately collecting and documenting study data under close supervision.
Ensure good welfare and humane care for all animals through positive human-animal interactions.,Train in on-boarding tasks including animal handling, sexing, restraint, feeding, watering, and husbandry of multiple species.,Perform clinical observations, acclimation observations, and body weight determination on multiple species.,Collect, document, review, and verify data on forms or in electronic data capture systems.,Review documentation of functions performed for quality control.,Use and maintain instrumentation and equipment.,Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) preferred. Associate (A.A./A.S.) or Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in a biological science, desired.,Experience: No previous experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.,Certification/Licensure: None, unless required by local government.
